Female Sexual Dysfunction
The symptoms of female sexual dysfunction can include lack of desire for sexual intercourse, an inability to enjoy sexual activity, insufficient reaction to sexual stimulus, inadequate vaginal lubrication, or repeated inability to achieve orgasm.
Insufficient response to sexual stimulation and difficulty in reaching a sexual climax is a common but complex problem in females. It’s a problem that can be caused by several different factors. Studies show that 40 to 45% of all adult females experience some sort of sexual dysfunction. This may be due to sickness or by the absence of physical response from the sex organs. It might also be a result of psychological distress.
The female equivalent of male erectile dysfunction is termed Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (FSAD).
When men and women are become sexually aroused, there is an increase in the blood flow into their sexual organs. Consequently, these organs become engorged with blood. In women, this results in:
- Enlargement of the clitoris and surrounding tissues (similar to penis erections in men)
- Secretion of vaginal fluid for lubrication
- Relaxation and widening of the vaginal opening to facilitate the entry of a penis for intercourse.
Women troubled by FSAD have the desire for sex but their sexual organs fail to respond in the normal way, thus making sexual intercourse painful or, in some cases, impossible.
Underlying Medical Condition
FSAD can be caused by various underlying medical conditions, which include but are not limited to:
- hypertension or high blood pressure
- diabetes
- irritations, infections and growths in the vaginal area
- reactions to contraceptive devices.
Medications used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), peptic ulcers, depression or anxiety and cancer may also cause problems. Another relevant factor is the physical, hormonal and emotional changes that occur during or after pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
FSAD can also result from psychological issues, such as:
- Relationship problems with the male partner
- Depression Low self-esteem
- Past sexual abuse or incest
- Prudish upbringing causing shame or guilt feelings about sex
- Fear of unwanted pregnancy
- Stress and fatigue
Orgasm Difficulties
There are women who, despite being sufficiently aroused to have sex, are unable to reach orgasm. This condition is known as Female Orgasmic Disorder (FOD)
There is a basic difference between women and men as far as orgasm is concerned. For men, orgasm is an automatic response to adequate sexual stimulation. For women, on the other hand, orgasm is a learned, not an automatic, response. About 5 to 10% of women never reach orgasm through any type of sexual activity – a condition called Anorgasmia. Anorgasmia is usually caused by sexual inexperience, performance anxiety, sexual trauma in the past or a prudish upbringing creating negative feelings about sex and sexual pleasure.
There are women who do enjoy sexual activity in spite of reaching a climax only occasionally or even never. However, for such women, sexual relationships would be far more satisfying and fulfilling if they could experience orgasm on most occasions of sexual activity.
Treatments
On-going research suggests that any medication that increases blood flow to the clitoris-vagina area will help overcome many sexual dysfunction problems in women by increasing physical response to stimulation in the area. Herbal topical gels or creams like Vigorelle or supplements that enhance blood flow, such as Provestra, have shown promising results. Some doctors also recommend that Kegel exercises, which help to develop the muscles around the outer portion of the vagina that are involved in pleasurable sensations.
In many cases, masturbation with vibrators has shown remarkable success in overcoming both arousal dysfunction and orgasmic disorder in women. This is because very often the clitoris and vagina have simply not learned how to respond to sexual stimulation. In such situations vibrator masturbation can successfully train the sex organs to respond to sexual stimulation.
The renowned sex therapist and educator, Helen Singer Kaplan, M.D., Ph.D., suggested the use of vibrators in the treatment of non-orgasmic females. She advised that for those women who have never had an orgasm (primary absolute orgasmic dysfunction), should manual masturbation not be sufficient to reach orgasm, a vibrator is indicated.

Penis Erection Basics – Erection Enhancement with VigRx Plus
Anatomy of the Penis
The penis is made up of three separate cylinders. The two paired cylinders called the Corpora Cavernosa are the force behind a man’s erection and are made up of chambers that expand and fill with blood to the point of turgidity, creating the hardness of the erection. The corpora cavernosa are surrounded by a membrane, called the tunica albuginea which also contributes to erections by helping to hold blood in the penis.
The capacity of the Corpora Cavernosa to fill with blood during arousal limits erection length and thickness, and this function can decrease with age.
The third cylinder of the penis, located in a groove underneath and between the two larger cylinders, is called the Corpus Spongiosum, through which semen and urine are passed out of the body. Also housed within it are nerves, two main arteries and several veins. The Corpus Spongiosum also forms the head (or glans) of the penis.
Recently, it has been discovered that the penile tissue of the Corpora Cavernosa responds strongly to various herbal compounds. Because this tissue is highly vascular (contains a high density of veins and arteries) these ancient cures for vascular and circulatory health are seeing a re-emergence in Western medicine as treatments for erection problems, with products such as VigRx Plus.
The chambers of the corpora can adapt to greater capacity and more effective function, so long as they receive the right supplementation and stimulation.
Physiology Of An Erection
An erection is the result of a combination of both physical and psychological stimulation. They are started with nervous responses between the brain and the muscles Various neurotransmitters in the brain (including acetylcholine, epinephrine, and nitric oxide) create nerve impulses that then trigger the muscles in the penis that control blood flow into the corpous cavernosa. These muscles relax, allowing large amounts of blood to flow into the penis. The spaces in the corpous cavernosa then fill with blood.
Arousal (both physical and mental) also causes nerve activity that tells the vascular system to increase blood flow to the penis. The two main arteries in the penis pump in more blood, creating pressure that inflates it to form an erection.
As the penis needs to retain the blood to remain erect, each body of erectile tissue is surrounded by an elastic membrane – the tunicae – which hold the blood from leaving the penis. This is what allows the penis to become inflated.
After stimulation is over, or following ejaculation, these reactions reversed. The pressure in the penis is reduced as the tunicae loosen and the smooth muscle in the blood vessels contract. This stops the inflow of blood, and opens the veins for the blood to flow back out. The penis then contracts back to its flaccid size.
Erection Enhancement
Inadequate, incomplete or insufficient-duration penis erections are common problems among men, but these problems can have serious adverse effects on the quality of sexual relations and can severely diminish a man’s self esteem. Fortunately, there is VigRx Plus, a natural, herbal penis erection enhancement solution that is effective, safe and available without medical prescriptions.
Effective Acne Control Products
Acne is not a simple condition to treat. It is a skin disease that affects each individual that has it differently. Every case of serious acne has to be looked at as an individual case in order to be properly treated. There is no catch-all treatment that can be used for every case. Furthermore, a lot of trial and error is usually needed in order to find an effective treatment individual by individual.
There are many acne products that are mass-marketed as the best cure for acne. It is very important to realize that products that are marketed towards acne sufferers and that can be bought off the shelf in the supermarket, do not cure acne. They manage, mask or suppress the symptoms of acne. It is important to recognize this as well as to realize that acne is not a result of bad hygiene. If your acne is progressively getting worse do not think that it is enough to wash your skin often and to use an over the counter product. If your acne is getting worse, seek medical advice for stronger products that might only be available with a prescription.
Acne treatments vary from being off the shelf, over-the-counter creams, prescribed and surgical. Over the counter acne products are usually topical medicines that contain Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. These are usually used to treat mild cases of acne where an individual is attempting to halt the progression of acne and clear up some troublesome pimples. They can also be used during severe stages of acne in combination with another treatment. Doctors usually recommend that the acne-infected area be washed very gently with warm water and a mild soap and then the topical treatment applied.
When acne progresses to the moderate or severe stage, doctors and dermatologists will usually use a combination of treatments in order for maximum effectiveness in halting any further development of the skin disease. Light therapy and extraction are often used at the moderate stage, in combination with an oral antibiotic or a retinoid cream, depending on the observations and recommendations of your doctor.
Since acne is such a complex condition to properly treat, it is not advisable to attempt to self-medicate. If you try over the counter products and they do not work, do not give up thinking that you have an incurable case of acne. Seek further professional medical advice. A doctor or a dermatologist will try to stop your acne from getting out of hand and will make an aggressive attempt at using a combination of products to prevent the possibility of acne scarring.
If you are serious about putting a halt to your acne, learn about the latest acne fighting products and how they can possibly work for your type of acne from your doctor. Be as aggressive about fighting acne as acne is about progressing step by step into a serious skin condition.
